Mother,
I would like to propose a notion. Being familiar with my character, you know my work ethic, level of responsibility, etc. I believe that buying an adolescent a vehicle would be an audacious venture, putting capital and moral values at risk. But that maxim only holds true if the adolescent is indeed parallel to the stereotype.
It is pure, unadulterated logic that proves my point. I am, some may say, a hard working antithesis to the modern society made up of unindustrious youths that rely on the credentials of their parents. While other teens take severe advantage of their circumstances, others merely do all that they can to make the world an environment suitable for the happiness of their counterparts. They do this by helping their families, recognizing the value of their education, setting a stupendous example, and using scintillating vocabulary.
I am one of those select individuals that works only to further the good and justice in today’s downward spiraling society.
Love, your affable daughter,
Taylor Anne Mazzola
This is the actual e-mail that I wrote my mom at age 16 (6/3/2006 @ 8:58pm) convincing my mom to buy me a car.
The subject was “A Modest Proposal”
I got Mitchell soon after.
